I love the teasing, so early Lee and Amanda. Already the chemistry is there and sparks are flying. And are they flirting or what? She asks him to say something nice about her work and him telling her, “Not bad.” Her leaning towards him and both of them looking into each other’s eyes, almost daring the other, “Care to change your opinion?” “That is so petty.” Love it!
SAAB is without a doubt one of the most romantic tags in the whole series. Lee stopping by to check up on her. Yes, he’s already beginning to fall for her. Her sneaking out of the house to talk with him and the awkwardness of the scene is fantastic and then the icing on the cake is when she asks him how he got her out of there, and he tells her, “I carried you.” Amanda swoons and so did I. She didn’t need fantasies about secret agents—she has the real thing!
Lee calls Amanda to the Q-Bureau, telling her the case is closed. Amanda sits on the edge of Lee’s desk, running her finger down his arm. Lee reaches down to grab something and then gives her the roses. I love the astonishment on her face, especially knowing what roses meant to him. She then kisses him on the cheek and they both smile at each other. Just a sweet tag.
Another day, another lie to her mother. Lee and Amanda are heading out for a picnic lunch. Then Lee attempts to take out the ‘speech,’ but Amanda halts him in his tracks by responding, “Not Exactly." She quickly turns and walks away, not letting him respond. . . just letting the words soak in, while the look on his face is priceless!
The humor, the blackmail, the bribe, “It’s the negative that’s gonna cost ya,” their smiles, his dimples!
Lee and Amanda attempting to be a normal couple; the smoky ‘come hither and kiss me’ look on Lee’s face, and then the near kiss only for them to be interrupted again. I personally was dying! Lee scurrying out the backdoor, but being in no hurry to leave the backyard, Amanda slipping out, Lee grabbing her, spinning her around and giving her a sweet kiss on the lips. Sure, it was just a chaste little peck, but held so much promise of things to come. And then the look on her face after he walks away spoke volumes.
The nervousness and glances Lee gives Amanda when both are walking down the hall and entering the Q-Bureau. After closing the door, him telling her, “You know, you and I do have a lot to talk about.” Amanda leaning against the desk probably to keep herself from falling, and just before they kiss—they are interrupted again! What was it with the writers making us want to scream at our televisions?! Thank goodness, Lee locked the door. “No, not this time.” The knowing looks on both Francine and Billy’s faces after seeing the door is locked. Lee nervously walking back to Amanda, the look of conformation on both their faces, then her sliding her hands up his chest, settling on his shoulders, their anxious laughter, and both smiling at each other before they finally kiss. Then breaking apart, they judge each other’s reactions before kissing again. Sigh!
Again another sweet tag. Lee visiting his parent’s graves, Amanda leaving flowers from her garden, him telling her, “I wish you could have known them.” I’m sure he never told anyone else that, and Amanda looking at Lee and telling him, “I think I already do,” especially since they now know how his parents met, followed by the lovely hug she gives him at the end.
Part I Their newly proclamation of their love to each other and one of my favorite lines in the whole series, “Now wait a minute. You can’t just walk into my life hand me a package, tell me to give it to the man in the red hat, tell me that you love me and walk out of my life again, followed by the amazing, eyebrow-raising kiss, and her running off with him.
Part 2 Lee tapping on her window and mouthing, “I love you,” then blowing her a kiss. Her dashing outside and running into his arms, the hug, the kiss, the wandering hands, the tosh grab!! Her telling him she’s in love with him and her mother asking if she’s caught him yet, and their smiles on their faces, when she yells back, “I’m working on it.” I love what that implies!
Lee and Amanda entering her house and collapsing onto the sofa, she throwing her legs across his lap, him wrapping his arms around her and them necking. Then hearing Amanda’s family, Lee tries to run away, but Amanda pulling him back says, “No, we need practice in this, too.” Following the plastered on smiles on their faces looking towards the door. Really, we weren't doing anything.
It was hard not to put Night Crawler in my top ten, so it gets an honorable mention. The Night Crawler tag from start to finish is perfect. No words needed, yet the whole tag oozed romance. Amanda sitting down at her desk, and seeing the Tiffany box, the shocked surprise on her face when she sees it’s an engagement ring. Lee sneaking into the Q-Bureau and nonchalantly walking past her, then sitting on the corner of her desk, he gently takes the ring, slowly slipping it onto her third finger. His eyes dark with passion, they smile at each other, before they kiss sealing the engagement.
